HOT TIPS 🔥

  • The Bits Before.

    DETAILS

Gather your special bits and pieces in one spot for ease to photographing. There doesn't need to be a million photos of you shoes, but a little collection of all your little details helps tell your story.

    THE VIBES

Let's get the party started. Tunes, drinks, games whatever helps you get pumped up for the awesome day you have ahead of you. Best to avoid sports or news channels on the TV, but opt for your fave tunes on a portable speaker and a bottle of something to crack once you get going.

    THE SPACE

When booking your wedding, have a think about where you'd like to get ready on the day. Sometimes a cute little Air BnB that you'll spend your wedding night in is a good option.
Wherever you choose, you'll want it to have beautiful natural window light and lots of it!

  • POV: You don't want to leave the party post ceremony!

    Enter FIRST LOOK!

I may be a bit biased but... First look sessions are amazing!
They give you the opportunity to see each other before anyone else sees you,
Pre-wedding jitters are quickly eased by seeing your person and by having photos earlier on means you get to go from love filled ceremony to congrats to party without missing those amazing canapes and cocktails you spent so much time planning!

Of course this session won't work for everyone, but if you have the time and are open to something a little less traditional, you'll love every minute of this.
    I promise!

  • Pets At Weddings

Please, introduce me to your pet!

If we have the honour of a furry friend joining you on the day, please let me know so I can get super excited and bring some extra treats to make them my best friend.

Much like kids, pets will rarely do exactly what we expect so embrace the chaos and enjoy the smiles they help create.

Your venue doesn’t allow animals? No problem!

Include them at your preparations or if time allows, we can do a little home visit as part of your portraits session.

I also offer Honeymoon Sessions; think of these as day after waking up as married folk and doing anything you didn’t get to on the wedding day, including hanging out with your pet without the worry of being covered in pet fur for your wedding!

  • Shower Us With Love and CONFETTI!

Guests LOVE showering you with love.
Confetti is the most fun and physical way of showing it.
Firstly, it must be eco friendly in my opinion. There are so many fun options out there including dried petals, hole punched leaves as well as a bio degradable option included in your welcome pack to have a test and play with.
Make sure your venue allows you to make a little mess as some won't. This is okay though, we have so many opportunities to do this in other places if you can't get one at your ceremony.

So hot tips to getting the BEST confetti shot at your ceremony.
    - You need more than you think. Confetti cannons are a thing and we love them.
    - Take it slow and keep you head up. No need to run through it, we want you to enjoy even moment of this part of the day.
    - Stop and have a kiss half way back down the aisle to enjoy the little bits of love falling over you and your lover.

  • Pop The Bubbles!

Cheap and cheerful is best. Don't waste the good stuff!
To get the best spray, confidence is key.

Once you've removed the cage, gently wiggle that cork outta here. This is not the photo op part!
Place your thumb about half way across the opening of the bottle and use your other hand to support the bottom.

    NOW SHAKE IT, BABY!

Cheer, scream, laugh and keep your head up.
Don't forget to enjoy this moment.

It's just bubbles, if you get wet it'll dry.

  • Party Time!

Whether you have a sit down or cocktail style reception, the formalities will be best nice and early.

Coming straight in to a dance or a cake cut gets the vibe set and will definitely help ease any nerves. You venue will have certain things that need to happen at certain times so we work around these but ideally break up your speeches into two blocks if having more than 3 people telling some tales. This allows time for drink refills, outfit changes or any other surprises you might have planned.

Keep your best dancefloor hits for the first 3-5 songs for high enegery photos as after this, shirts get sweaty, people want cake and grandparents may want to go home by 9pm!

Fun add-ons to your reception to keep it fresh and fun for those who don’t want to dance:

    • Photobooth

    • Gelato Cart

    • Roaming Musicians

    • Drag Queens or Burlesque Dancers

If you want natural and ambient lit photos over flash filled images, consider adding some festoons, candles or other forms of ambient lighting. If you think “our venue is bright enough…” double check to see what it’ll look like on the day/night. Often overhead lights are dimmed and once the sunsets, that stunning golden light disappears.

  • All in All...

The biggest tip to getting awesome photos, have fun. Don’t think about “getting the perfect photo” just focus on your human and having the best damn day with your favourite people nearby. Nothing will ever make better photos than you being 100% YOU!

I always encourage hugs, kisses, hand holding, tickling, licking and butt touches.

It’s YOUR wedding day, so have fun!
